Una delle più famose poesie di lode religiosa del patrimonio popolare algerino è una poesia del poeta Abdelkader Batabji, uno dei più celebri poeti della provincia di Mostaganem, nato nel 1871 e morto nel 1948. La compose in lode del santo Abdelkader al-Jilali, che deteneva l'ijazah (licenza) nell'ordine sufi Qadiriyya, al quale è attribuita. È considerato il primo santo ad aver compiuto questo atto nella storia dei santi. Per quanto riguarda l'affermazione che "il poeta Zaghada l'abbia composta nel 1989", questa è errata perché la prima artista Rai a cantarla fu #Cheba_Nouriya nel 1984. Anche l'affermazione che sia stata composta dallo sceicco Abdelrahman al-Majdhub è errata perché la maggior parte delle poesie di lode religiose, prive di zajal marocchino (una forma di poesia vernacolare), sono al 100% poesia popolare algerina.

Fu lui a comporre questa poesia, che divenne famosa dopo la sua morte nei canti religiosi, diventando la poesia religiosa più famosa recitata in ogni occasione, soprattutto dopo la rivoluzione, quando iniziò a diffondersi... La musica Raï iniziò a diffondersi intorno al 1965. Questa canzone fu adottata ed eseguita da cantanti donne e, all'inizio degli anni '80, fu registrata in stile Raï da una giovane donna. In seguito, fu reinterpretata da molti artisti Raï, tra cui Cheba Zahouania, Cheb Tahar e Cheb Moumen alla fine degli anni '80, tra gli altri.

 Nei primi anni '90, quando il Raï raggiunse la fama internazionale grazie al successo dell'album "Didi", Cheb Khaled decise di reinterpretarlo.
